Book a consultation What we offerAcademic excellence at any age depends on three things: understanding, interest, and confidence.
End-to-end support through the application: choosing a college, super-curricular reading, personal statement, written admissions tests, and mock interviews in the tutorial style Oxford and Cambridge actually use.
Sessions dedicated to helping you express your passion and suitability for your subject: we make you shine as an applicant, and we help your personal statement reflect that.
The Oxbridge interview is a rehearsal for the tutorial and supervision system. The more familiar you become with talking through your thought process, the better. Our mock interviews imitate exactly the style of an Oxbridge interview, and help you build your confidence for the real thing.
English and Spanish at GCSE and A-level, building the analytical writing and language skills that admissions tutors look for.
Preparation for selective school entry, building the reasoning and composure that serve a student long after the exam itself.
Founder
I'm Jennifer Pitcher, a finalist reading BA English and Spanish at Exeter College, University of Oxford. I know the admissions process from the inside: the reading that interests an admissions tutor, the difference between a polished statement and a memorable one, and how to stay clear-headed in an interview.
I went to a comprehensive state school with a year group of hundreds, and only my twin sister and I were offered places at Oxbridge. As is the case for many students, particularly those applying from state schools, we had little structured support in our Oxbridge applications. So, we built it ourselves. We read widely, sat each other through mock interviews, and slowly worked out what these universities are actually looking for. The process of familiarising myself with the application process taught me something I now believe firmly. What separates students who succeed is rarely ability; far more often it is whether they were given the right environment in which to flourish and reach their full potential. That is what our lessons offer: an extra point in the support network around your child as their academic goals come to fruition.
Throughout my degree, I have built up hundreds of hours of experience working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and ability levels, from 11+ to university admissions. I have also gained hands-on classroom experience, from working as a language assistant in a Spanish primary school, to visiting prestigious institutions such as Concord College and delivering workshops on analytical thinking to students considering Oxbridge. I am a passionate and encouraging tutor, who truly cares about giving each student the greatest possible chance to reach their fullest potential.
I understand the chaos and intensity of education. Students often have a great many commitments to contend with during their studies, and learning to carry them all is part of the work. While at school I earned a black belt in taekwondo and learned to fly an aircraft solo at seventeen, all while achieving Grade 9s across my GCSEs and an offer from Oxford. Helping your child navigate the admissions process as efficiently as possible, without it swallowing everything else, is central to what I do.
I work with a small number of students at a time so that each receives close, individual attention. I hold an enhanced DBS check and follow a clear safeguarding policy, available on request.

(Not sure what supercurriculars are? That's exactly what we're here for.)
Curated reading lists to take a student beyond the syllabus: the books, essays, and ideas that show an admissions tutor real interest in a subject. Each list is built from the reading that actually shapes an Oxbridge application, with a short note on why each text earns its place and how to write about it.
A structured route through the texts, critics, and questions that distinguish a strong English applicant, with guidance on turning reading into a memorable personal statement.

Most state schools are wholly supportive of their brightest students, but few have the budget, the time, or the in-house Oxbridge experience to run a structured admissions programme. We fill that gap. Schools can outsource the design and delivery of a complete Oxbridge support programme to a tutor who navigated the process from a state school herself, so your students get the kind of preparation that independent schools provide as standard. We are deeply passionate about widening access to Oxford and Cambridge for the brightest students who, through no fault of their own, might not have access to the support available in other institutions.
A single focused day to introduce a cohort to what an Oxbridge application really involves.
A structured term-long programme that takes a group of students from first interest to a polished application.
A complete year-round partnership covering the whole application cycle, designed around your school.
In-person delivery is available across the South West and, by arrangement, further afield (travel costed separately); online delivery is available nationwide. Every programme is shaped around your students, your subjects, and your budget, so the packages above are starting points rather than fixed menus. Get in touch and we can build something that fits.
How it works Get in touch for a free scoping call to talk through your students and what you need. We then send a tailored proposal, and once it suits you, we agree dates and begin. Simple, and built around your school from the first conversation.
We take safeguarding seriously and understand the checks a school needs before bringing in an external provider. We hold an enhanced DBS check and an International Child Protection Certificate, and we are happy to provide our safeguarding policy, references, and insurance details on request.
Across the humanities and the sciences. The application skills at the heart of every programme, interviews, personal statements, analytical thinking and wider reading, apply to every subject. For in-person days, students are taught by two Oxbridge specialists: one leading on humanities and one on STEM, so a mixed cohort receives genuinely subject-expert guidance on both sides rather than generalist coverage.
Both. In-person delivery is available across the South West and, by arrangement, further afield, with travel costed separately. Online delivery is available nationwide and works well for ongoing term and full-cycle programmes.
Yes. Programmes are designed to complement what your teachers already do, not replace it. Term and full-cycle programmes include progress updates and a staff briefing so your team can support students between sessions.
We are a recent state-school Oxbridge student, not a faceless agency. Students work directly with someone who navigated the same process from the outside a few years ago, which we find resonates far more than a corporate brand, and every programme is delivered by us rather than passed to a rota of tutors.
A free scoping call to talk through your students and what you need. We then send a tailored proposal, and once it suits you, we agree dates and begin.
The Oxbridge cycle moves fast and the deadlines are unforgiving. This is the timeline your students are working to.

My experience with {My Tutor} was brilliant! She helped greatly to de-mystify the interview process in such a friendly and approachable way and helped me with other questions about my application. She went out of her way to give me extra support where I asked. {My Tutor}'s feedback was extremely insightful and her mock interviews were similar to the real one; she really cared about me feeling positive going into my interviews and came across as genuinely passionate about tutoring, so I would highly recommend her help!
{My Tutor} was thoroughly prepared and equipped my daughter with everything she needed in a short space of time. She was patient, kind and encouraging. This gave my daughter much needed confidence in exams such as the oral and listening. I believe my daughter obtained a significantly better grade as a result of {My Tutor}'s tutoring. I only wish I had discovered her earlier!
{My Tutor} supported our son in preparing for his A-levels, and we were extremely impressed with her work. She was always well-prepared, highly engaged, and consistently reliable. Her friendly and motivating manner helped our son gain confidence and stay focused throughout the process. We were very satisfied with her commitment and professionalism and can highly recommend her as a tutor.
{My Tutor} is tutoring our Year 11 daughter, to help her with GCSE preparation. My daughter has ADHD and autism, and {My Tutor}'s communication and teaching have been clear, direct and really effective. She's extremely helpful in creating detailed plans for the tutoring sessions. She gives accurate and high-quality feedback on the work that's been covered, how well my daughter is doing and what needs to be strengthened. The overall support in terms of flexibility, helping us plan, and being absolutely reliable has been excellent. {My Tutor} was originally only meant to be covering English Literature, but has also helped with Drama GCSE and even the written aspects of a Dance BTech. We've been impressed by her capacity to understand and explain what examiners want to see, across this broad subject range. She's also built a lovely rapport with our daughter. As a result, our daughter has already seen one of her grades go up a whole level. {My Tutor} is a total star, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.
{My Tutor} has been tutoring our 10-year-old son and we've been thrilled with the progress he's made. She is a patient, conscientious and highly professional tutor who makes every session engaging and enjoyable.
My experience of learning with {My Tutor} has been fantastic. An excellent tutor who I cannot recommend high enough.
